Cyber Safety: A Model’s Guide to Digital Protection Part 1

In part one of this new series, we’ll share practical steps you can take to strengthen your account security and share how we’re working behind the scenes to support you every step of the way.

How You Can Protect Yourself

You play a key role in protecting your account and content on Pornhub by taking a few essential precautions:

• Mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This is a security process that requires you to provide two different forms of identification when logging into an account, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access. When setting up for the first time, download the authenticator app on your mobile and use another device (tablet or laptop) to streamline the process. Once enabled, you’ll receive a unique code through your authenticator app when logging in. For detailed instructions on how to set it up, visit our Help Center.  
• Use a strong password. Create a unique password with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using information like birthdays or common words that can be guessed easily. Update it regularly and don’t share it with others.  
• Keep your personal and banking information up to date. Before each payment cycle, double-check that your address, banking details, and other personal details in your core settings are current to avoid any disruptions. If you make changes close to a payment date, notify support to help prevent issues.
• Beware of phishing scams. Be cautious with emails or text messages requesting personal information such as banking details or home addresses. Always verify the sender’s identity and if unknown, do not engage. Avoid clicking suspicious links or downloading unknown attachments because they can compromise your device or data. • Update your software regularly. Keeping your operating system, browsers, and apps up to date ensures you receive the latest security patches and protection. Enable automatic updates when possible or set reminders to check manually on all your devices.  
• Regularly monitor your content. Check frequently for unauthorized uploads of your work and promptly report any infringements using Pornhub’s DMCA tools.
• Stay informed about platform updates. Follow Pornhub’s official announcements and safety resources like the Blog, Help Center, and pop-up notifications to stay up to date on new tools, features, and community guidelines that help keep you safe. Make sure to subscribe to our email notifications and add our email address to your safe sender list so you don’t miss important updates from us.

Tips From Models

A couple years ago, we did a Model Spotlight on popular women-loving-women account, the JellyFilledGirls. They shared valuable safety advice for creators. Here are some of their top tips:  

• Turn off location services on your devices when filming or posting content.  
• Avoid clicking on links sent by fans or strangers.  
• Secure your personal social media accounts with strong passwords and 2FA.  
• Be mindful of your surroundings when filming. Ensure no personal items or identifiable information are visible.  
• Don’t engage with harassers. Block, delete, and move on. If harassment escalates, take screenshots and save any threatening messages or emails. These may contain metadata useful to local law enforcement authorities.  
• Never share personal or sensitive information online, regardless of how trustworthy someone seems.  

Create a personal safety checklist and review it regularly. Staying consistent with your safety practices helps build a strong layer of protection.  

Bonus tip: If you have an Amazon Wishlist linked in your Profile Details, be aware that delivery emails may include location details like maps or delivery photos. To protect your privacy, consider using a Post Office (P.O.) Box for fan mail or deliveries.  

Proactive Steps to Protect Your Content

• Advanced content fingerprinting: Every video uploaded by Models is assigned a unique digital fingerprint, enabling us to quickly identify and locate unauthorized or duplicate copies across the Pornhub Network. If you’re opted into content protection services, we can also help detect and remove stolen material beyond our platform. Learn more about content protection.
• Rapid DMCA takedown process. Our dedicated team processes DMCA takedown requests swiftly and efficiently. If your content is found elsewhere without your permission, you can file a DMCA notice through our platform, and we’ll work to have it removed as quickly as possible. Exclusive Models benefit from proactive DMCA enforcement, a service that typically costs between $40 and $100 a month from other providers, where our team actively scans for and removes infringing content on your behalf. To opt into exclusivity, go to your Core Settings and open the Account Details tab. There, you will find a section titled “Content Protection.”
• Trusted Flagger Program. Pornhub partners with over 65 trusted individuals and organizations—known as Trusted Flaggers—that was developed to provide a robust and efficient way for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and statutory offices to alert us of content that potentially violates our Terms of Service. This program ensures that potentially harmful or non-consensual content is immediately disabled and prioritized for review by our dedicated team of moderators, helping to keep the platform safe for all users and Models. • 24/7 monitoring and support. Our Trust and Safety team monitors the platform around the clock for suspicious activity, account breaches, and policy violations. If you ever notice something unusual or need help, our support team is available to assist you.
